St. Paddy's Day

So after such a traumatic day yesterday, I needed some decompression and fun. I also felt like I needed a break from church. Every time I go, I get wrangled into conversations about church business and tonight I just wanted to have fun. Clark and I headed to Dan McGuinness Irish Pub in Cool Springs where we met up with our friend Michael. It was PACKED to the gills with people decked out in green. I was in such a funk today I forgot about wearing green and ended up wearing an olive green zip-up hoodie all day. Anyway we managed to find half of a table. There was a couple on the other end and they were great about letting us sit there. The music was great, my hard cider was tasty and the lamb stew I had was delicious. About half-way through the evening I realized this was the first time I had ever gone out on for St. Patrick’s Day! When the kids were younger, I would put green food coloring in their eggs and milk, but go out to a bar? Nope, never! Damn, I’m an Irish red-head with green eyes and freckles and it took me 40 years to celebrate?

¡Hasta pronto, mis amigos!
